Almost two years ago, I shared these photos of Camellias as seen at the Bob Wines Nursery and Camellia Garden in Ocala, Florida. That was during my first winter in Central Florida.

Now entering my third winter here, I wanted to share some more blooms. Camellias come in a stunning variety of colors and varieties and join other winter bloomers like the Pointsettia and Amaryllis, Dogwood and Magnolia to liven up the landscape which, even in Florida, can appear dulled by shorter days and cooler nights.

In case you are wondering, the third photograph in both of the trios above is an “artistic” version of a Camellia. See my sister blog LensMomentsNS for more of my fine art, nature and experimental photography!
They also do very well in coastal California. They are starting to bloom. I totally love them!
