Thornton Park and Dickson Azalea Park

If you grew up watching Mr. Rogers like I did, this may sound corny, but I often find myself saying “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.”

Dickson Azalea Park, even well past azalea bloom time, was beautiful when I visited recently. At more than 100 years old, this small but mighty place has a slightly wild feeling to it, as if mother nature has the upper hand again.

Thorton Park itself is lovely, with bungalows and Craftsman-era homes located adjacent to Downtown Orlando.

Won’t you be my neighbor – and check it out?

a home across the street from the park-the perfect yard in my opinion!
a creek runs through the park, which is actually below street level
so green- and it’s only May
