Seasonal Florida Fun: Showcase of Citrus

Today, I had free time and wanted to do something seasonal. Although the temperature here has dropped below constant sweating temperatures, it still doesn’t feel like fall. Also, in Florida, we don’t get much of the fall colors, so you have work at seeking out fall fun. I chose the Showcase of Citrus, which describes itself as:

…a family owned and operated 2,500 acre estate cultivating over 50 varieties of citrus that began in 1989. From U-pick citrus to monster truck tours through the ranch, from gem mining in a real sluice box to simply having a relaxing picnic, there is something for everyone of all ages.

Well, it’s definitely not citrus season, so that wasn’t the focus for today, but there were plenty of gourds and pumpkins, a small petting zoo, lawn games, food trucks, locally sourced food and drink and pretty grove and stream scenery.

This is a great destination for those with kids under 12. It is located in Lake County, near the town of Clermont, about 30 minutes outside of Orlando.
