My friend and I visited the Empire Stores located within Brooklyn Bride Park last week. Situated in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, the historic building caters to artists that live and work in the area, upscale residents that are mostly recent arrivals and hordes of tourists. On a calm day, I love it. On a busy day, the Empire Stores can be a bit much.
While we were there, there were three “art” installations that utilized mirrors. Two of them reacted to movement. I photographed one of these and have to admit that it was interesting- for a moment. It reminded me of those highway billboards that flip from one ad to another.
Here’s the photo, with the mirror in motion and my friend’s face showing in the center.
