The MTA , operator of New York City’s subway and bus lines, has a wonderful program called MTA Arts for Transit. I visited a newly rehabilitated 23rd St Station (F/M) to take photos of a brand new installation of some renowned photographer William Wegman’s portraits of Weimaraner dogs assuming human postures.

Thanks Emily, I think so too! Being a photographer myself, I love that they chose a photographer’s work to translate into mosaic.

Is this art made from little tiles? I assume it would take lot of time to make one of these. .. this is incredible.

Yes, it is! The MTA does wonderful work commissioning these artists and artisans.
