Long Island City, Queens, by Day

Queens County, one of New York City’s five boroughs, is often thought of only as a bedroom community. A few million people live there but it isn’t interesting and is decentralized and not well served by the subway system. In my opinion, regarding much of the borough, this is true, but Queens does have some bright spots, like the midtown manhattan-adjacent Long Island City. This area with its skyline views, parks, and artsy vibe is the DUMBO or Lower East Side of Queens.

Here are some photos that I took at Gantry State Park on a chilly November afternoon.

Thanks for visiting!
